Young People’s Online Behaviour: Common Report
This report presents the main findings of the transnational study carried out as part of the DIGI-Story project, which focuses on analysing the digital behaviour of young people in Portugal, Spain and the Czech Republic. Using a combination of quantitative and qualitative data, the study provides an up-to-date insight into how young people interact with digital media, the habits they develop and the challenges they face in the online environment.
The results show that, although young people exhibit a high level of digital activity, significant gaps persist in media literacy, responsible behaviour and content creation. Of particular relevance is the discrepancy identified between their perception of their digital skills and their actual practices, highlighting the need for more practical and behaviour-oriented educational interventions.
This report not only identifies common trends and issues at European level, but also lays the foundations for the development of one of the project’s main outputs: the Online Behaviour Guide. Based on these findings, DIGI-Story proposes an innovative educational approach that promotes critical thinking, digital responsibility and the active participation of young people as prosumers in the digital ecosystem.
